The COVID-19 pandemic has uprooted our lives. We’ve all been impacted in one way or another. At Dyslexia Reading Connection we are doing our best to follow the news as information is being released about reopening Wisconsin. Today, I listened to the Information Hearing about the “Back to Business” plan for our state. Additionally, I’ve been reading up on the “Badger Bounce Back” plan and the proposed Phases to reopening our economy.
As more information is released and dates are made public we will share our plan for reopening our onsite tutoring services. Our tutors desperately miss working face-to-face with the students they serve. As we’ve all learned to work within this new normal, families have embraced the option and flexibility of online tutoring, but we understand this doesn’t work for every child and family situation. Please know, we fully intend to return to onsite tutoring as soon as it is safe for our families and your children. Your health and safety is our greatest concern!
But, COVID-19 will not keep us down. As schools have ramped up online learning, this has definitely created challenges for working at home. As a wife, mother, full-time employee, tutor, and now teacher I understand the struggles as I’ve been living them firsthand. Each day poses challenges and rewards. I’ve learned more about myself, my strengths and my weaknesses during this time. I’ve grown a newfound appreciation for my children’s teachers and I have a deeper respect for our tutors. The compassion, patience, resilience, and expertise of our tutors to be flexible all while engaging their students and providing them with the life-altering skills and confidence they need to improve their reading, spelling, and math is overwhelming.
We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
