DRC Staffing Announcements
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of Amber Creamer. Amber served in various roles in her 14 years with DRC. She served as the Administrative Assistant, Executive Assistant, Tutor, Board Member, Chair of the Fundraising & Marketing Committee, and most recently as the Barton Compliance Manager. Amber made a significant stamp on this organization, and all her contributions will be deeply missed. DRC wouldn’t be where we are today without her knowledge, passion, and desire to help struggling readers. Thank you, Amber!
As Amber’s daughters are in school, Amber will be supporting their education and other students at New Hope Christian School.
On another note…
We are happy to announce that Karrie Brass will be taking over many responsibilities Amber filled in her position. Karrie has been training with Amber and Elizabeth since the beginning of summer and has been involved with tutor observations as well. The role of Barton Compliance Manager is extremely important for our organization since programmatic compliance is not something we will ever compromise. Additionally, tutor support is vital to your success. Therefore, Karrie will fulfill these primary responsibilities in her new role:
- Tutor support
- Tutor observations
Karrie has been with DRC for 9.5 years. Karrie tutored from 2008 to 2013, took a break for 5 years to focus on her family and homeschool her children after she learned that her youngest son had dyslexia. In 2018, Karrie returned to DRC as a tutor and in 2019 she fulfilled the role of Assessment Specialist. Since, Karrie has added consultations and screenings to her toolbox. Karrie has graduated 3 students since her return in 2018, and she will be graduating another 3 students before the end of the year. We look forward to watching Karrie’s role grow with the organization as the number of families we serve continues to grow.
